Become a User: (Internal User Only)

Thank you for your interest in AMCaT! We look forward to working with you and helping you accomplish your research objectives. Before you start work in AMCaT you will need to complete the registration process. If you are an On-Campus user, which includes all Professional Schools and Colleges, please follow the instructions below. 

  1. Complete the New AMCaT User Form except for section 4.
    • You will need a chart string from your PI to complete the form.
    • please fill and sign the form digitally.
    • email the completed form to [email protected].
  2. filling out this user info survey (sign in using UCD account)

  3. Create PPMS account:

    • In order to create an account, you must have a valid chart string (in the new format) for recharge purposes. This should be the same chart string you used on the AMCaT user from. If you

    If you need assisted use ( mail-in/drop off), please do step 1-3 and contact [email protected] directly.  If you want to get trained to use the instrument independently, please also do step 4-5

     

  4. Complete the necessary safety trainings on LMS. Send the completion PDF certificates(downloaded from LMS system) to [email protected].
    1. UC Laboratory Safety Fundamentals
    2. PPE: Personal Protective Equipment
    3. Hazardous Waste Management and Minimization (if working with chemicals and generating waste)
    4. For XRD only: you will also need to complete Form 3A and the LMS Radiation Safety Training.
  5. email [email protected] and [email protected] with your availability for a safety walk through and instrument specific training.
    • mark a set of dates and times you are available for the following two weeks on when2meet 
    • email the lab manager and schedule time, also discuss about bring along a sample you would like to characterize.
